Punctual, polite, professional and well priced. The group did an excellent job working through my list of repairs: ceiling fan; smoke detectors; exhaust fan; switch board; and air con unit. I’d happily use Electrx for any future jobs and recommend to friends.

I hired Electrx to install a couple of outdoor lights (with sensors), a motion sensor for an existing car port light, hard-wired doorbell camera, additional GPOs in the kitchen and converted existing recessed ceiling downlights into pendant lights which turned out great! Bill provided a reasonable quote for these works and he and his colleague did the works with care and attention to detail. They also helped me setup the doorbell camera and adjust the light sensors. Izzy was also great to deal with in the lead up to the day of the works. Everyone was responsive and provided details and answers to my questions. Highly recommend and would return again 💫

The work Bill did adding two extra power points and hiding my HDMI cables was so good, he even helped with cable management which is beyond. I also had a EV charger installed which he got done with no problems at all. Thanks so much!!

Very happy with the service from Electrx. The team was professional, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They took the time to understand my needs and recommended an EV charger that was better suited to my usage rather than simply installing the original option. The installation felt personalised to my home and requirements, and the workmanship was excellent. I really appreciated their honest advice and attention to detail. Highly recommended!

I can't speak highly enough of Bill and the work he did today. Not only did he quickly identify the problem, but he also fixed it efficiently and professionally. He took the time to explain everything, was great to deal with, and offered a very fair price. I was so impressed with his knowledge, honesty, and workmanship that he'll be our electrician from now on. A genuinely nice bloke who really knows his trade. I would highly recommend Bill to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled electrician.

Residential & Commercial Claims

We handle surge and storm damage assessments for both residential and commercial policyholders.

  • Residential claims: typically involve assessment of switchboard and consumer mains damage, wiring insulation degradation, safety switch failure, and appliance circuit damage following lightning strikes, Powercor outage recovery spikes, or storm events.
  • Commercial claims: involve greater complexity, higher equipment values, business interruption considerations, and in some cases compliance obligations that need to be addressed before a premises can reopen. We’re experienced in commercial assessments across a wide range of business types including hospitality, retail, medical and dental practices, and office tenancies.
  • For medical and dental premises: our assessments also address AS/NZS 3003 patient area compliance, confirming whether clinical electrical infrastructure remains compliant following the event, and what rectification is required before the space can be used for patient care.

Why Loss Adjusters and Insurers Work With Us

  • We attend promptly.: Surge events often leave properties in an unsafe or non-operational state. We prioritise surge assessment referrals and attend within agreed timeframes so your claimant isn’t waiting, and your claim isn’t delayed.
  • Our reports are built for your process.: We know what makes an electrical damage report useful for a claims assessor and what makes it a problem. Our reports are clear, structured, and answer the right questions without padding or ambiguity.
  • We don’t inflate scope.: Our assessments reflect what was actually damaged and what actually needs to be rectified. We’re not in the business of generating work beyond what the event caused.
  • We understand the Powercor network.: Melbourne’s western suburbs are serviced by Powercor. We’re familiar with the grid characteristics, outage patterns, and network events that generate surge claims in this area, which means our cause-of-damage assessments are grounded in local knowledge.
  • We handle the full workflow.: From first attendance through to Certificate of Electrical Safety on completed repairs, we can manage the entire electrical scope of a claim, reducing the number of touchpoints your team needs to manage.
  • We’re fully licensed and insured.: REC 31135, Energy Safe Victoria. All work is covered by a Certificate of Electrical Safety. Full public liability and professional indemnity insurance held.
